Setting Up Outlook on a New MacBook

If your email is hosted on SecureServer.net (GoDaddy) through MakeYourNetwork, follow the steps below to configure your email account in Microsoft Outlook for Mac.

Step 1 - Open Outlook

Open Microsoft Outlook.

• If this is your first time opening Outlook, click Add Account.
• If Outlook is already configured:
  • Select Tools.
  • Choose Accounts.
  • Click the + button and select New Account.

Step 2 - Enter Your Email Address

Enter your full email address, for example:

yourname@yourdomain.com

Click Continue.

If Outlook asks whether you want to sync through the Microsoft Cloud, click Continue.

Step 3 - Choose Manual Setup

If Outlook attempts to configure your account automatically as Microsoft 365 or Exchange:

• Select Not Exchange? if available.
• Choose IMAP.

Step 4 - Enter Your Password

Enter your email password.

Step 5 - Incoming Mail Server (IMAP)

Step 6 - Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)

Step 7 - Finish Setup

Click Add Account.

Outlook will verify your settings and begin downloading your email.

Troubleshooting

If Outlook continues trying to configure your account as Microsoft 365 or Exchange:

• Remove the account.
• Add it again using Manual Setup.
• Select IMAP instead of Exchange.
• Ensure your username is your full email address.
• Confirm SSL/TLS is enabled for both incoming and outgoing mail.
